Domestic Cleaner — Home Services Team

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our ever growing charity in the Pontypool area.

We are looking for a skilled part-time accounts clerk to perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and financial tasks.
The person we are looking for will ensure the organisations daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively.
The potential candidate is expected to have at least two years experience of working with SAGE.

Nail Cutting Technician

Job Title: Nail Cutting Technician
Reports To: Compliance Manager
Responsible To: Chief Executive
Hours: Part Time, flexible between Monday- Friday
Salary: £8.91
Purpose of the Post: To carry out finger and toe-nail cutting for older people who find it difficult to do this for themselves.

Scope of the Post
1. To carry out the important service of toe-nail and/or finger nail cutting
following required hygiene and safety procedures, encouraging independence and promoting health and well-being at Widdershins in Sebastopol and at allocated outreach venues.
2. Registering of new clients, allocating appointments for existing and new clients, collecting fees and keeping simple client records/filing system and equipment stock records.
3. Able to make referrals to partners to enable client to access specialised podiatry services

Nail Cutting Job Description
Specific Responsibilities
1. To develop client relationships, promoting sensitivity, building confidence and encouragement for clients to maintain access to the service
2. Understanding the necessity for confidentiality
3. Maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety
4. To have excellent communication, listening and customer care skills
5. Be able to manage client case load, work well under pressure and have excellent time management skills
6. To work in accordance with Age Connects Torfaen policies and procedures.
7. To maintain records, stock control and produce monthly reports.
8. To work in accordance to the Quality Standards of Age Connects Torfaen
Other Responsibilities
1. To work as part of the Health Suite Team and also independently.
2. To meet for regular supervision with line manager.
3. To attend regular staff meetings.
4. To participate in developing and maintaining good public relationships.
5. To promote a positive image of older people and of Age Connects Torfaen to other agencies and the general public.

Job Title:              Flexible Respite Dementia Support Worker (1 year fixed term)

Responsible to:   Dementia Services Co-ordinator

Location:               Throughout Torfaen       

Salary:                   £18,582.20

Hours:                       35 hours per week

Main Purpose of the Job:

To provide support, information and guidance to people with dementia and their carers helping to maintain their independence, improving their sense of well-being, and putting them in more control of their lives. To assist people with dementia and their carers to identify their needs and access to services.

Dimensions and limits of authority:

Responsible and accountable for the delivery of a high quality support services. Responsible for liaising with relevant statutory and voluntary organisations in the area in relation to this service.

Duties and key responsibilities:

  • To manage referrals, assisting clients in assessing dementia services.
  • To maintain and manage a caseload of clients who have dementia or are affected by dementia from appropriate geographical locations within Torfaen and the surrounding boroughs.
  • To support people with dementia of all ages and varying needs from the Zest for life and Merry moments group.
  • To provide respite as and when needed for carers to have a break from their caring role.
  • To provide weekly workshops that are engaging and stimulate the needs of a person with dementia.
  • To provide 1-1 home activity sessions in the clients homes that are engaging and stimulate the needs of a person with dementia.
  • To ensure clients adhere to the Covid 19 regulations whilst attending services- lateral flow testing, face coverings, handwashing and social distancing measures.
  • To provide information regarding Age Connects Torfaen services making the appropriate referrals as and when needed.
  • To provide an innovative person centered plan for each client and to keep this regularly update to their changing needs.
  • To maintain accurate, up to date client support plans and client contact records using the web based programme Charity Log.
  • When appropriate, to signpost clients to a choice of suitable other sources of help.
  • To develop a proactive approach in reaching people with dementia and carers who may not otherwise access our services.
  • To develop networks with partner organisations who also work in the field of dementia, mental health, disabilities, and benefits and income advice, including Primary and Secondary care, Social Care and Health, and Welfare Benefit agencies, with the aim of empowering individuals to make informed choices.
  • To assist in raising public awareness about dementia and the way it affects families and individuals, and to participate in local events such as conferences.
  • To recruit, train and support volunteers to become specialist dementia volunteers
