Creative Photography Volunteer
We are looking for photography volunteers who have:
- Strong photography skills.
- A good artistic eye and feel for an aesthetically beautiful shot
- Good Adobe Photoshop skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Suitable photography equipment and editing software
General tasks may include:
- Collating all photos taken after the event/photoshoot and sending to the team electronically as soon as possible.
- Participating in evening and weekend events/activities when needed
- Arranging props/material for photoshoots
- Capturing images, within agreed timeframes, to display and color compliance standards
- Performing quality control checks on images, according to guidelines
- Post-processing of images, including cropping, colour corrections, etc
- Naming digital files and creating metadata/tags as required for upload to the photo library

Dementia Buddy
As a Dementia Buddy, you are taking on a special and rewarding role in supporting individuals living with dementia. Your primary goal is to provide companionship and understanding to help improve the quality of life for those affected by this condition in the local community.
Role Responsibilities
- As a Buddy you’ll support people living with dementia to access their local community.
- Work on a one to one basis
- Activities to include : Sports , accessing beauty therapies, shopping trips, theatre and cinema, garden centre.
- Engage, support and encourage Buddy in conversation and participation.
- A commitment of once a month is required for this role.
- Undertake appropriate training to role.
Reception Volunteer
The Volunteer Receptionist provides a warm, professional, and welcoming first point of contact for clients and visitors. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of front desk services, including answering phones, managing inquiries, and offering administrative support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet Visitors:
Welcome and assist visitors with a friendly and helpful attitude, ensuring they feel comfortable and directed to the appropriate staff member or service. - Answer Telephone Calls:
Handle incoming phone calls, directing them to the correct department or person, taking messages when necessary, and providing general information. - Manage Enquiries:
Respond to general enquiries in person, over the phone, or via email, offering helpful information about the organisation’s services and programs. - Clerical Duties:
Perform light administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, sorting mail, maintaining visitor logs, and data entry as needed.
Community Lunch Club Volunteer
The Lunch Club Volunteer plays a vital role in providing a welcoming and enjoyable environment for members of the local community during lunchtime gatherings. These clubs typically serve older adults, vulnerable individuals, or those seeking social interaction and a nutritious meal. Volunteers assist with food preparation, serving, clean up, and creating a friendly atmosphere for attendees.
Role Responsibilities:
- To support a lunch club at community venues, providing a social gathering where individuals can enjoy lunch with others.
- Preparing room to and following lunch clubs use at the venue.
- Taking lunch orders and recording from a set menu.
- Assisting to plate/serve meals and refreshments (teas/coffees).
- Assist in ensuring all areas are cleaned to meet Food Hygiene Regulations.
- Commit to two hours per week.
- Undertake appropriate training to the role.
Merry Moments Activity Volunteer
This roles involves supporting people living with dementia within our Merry Moments groups.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up tea and coffee station before clients come in.
- Make Tea and Coffee for clients.
- Assist client with an arm when going into the hall for lunch.
- Clear away dirty dishes after meal time.
- Assist as and when with activities.
- Undertake appropriate training to the role.
- Commitment is three and half hours weekly.
Volunteer Community Driver
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
As a volunteer community driver you will provide a transport service throughout Torfaen and the surrounding area. Your typical duties would include planning the best route and driving the vehicle safely, stopping at designated points. Your duties will include helping passengers get on and off the vehicle and performing basic vehicle checks
You will also be delivering food to the various lunch clubs located throughout the borough of Torfaen.
