
Chief Executive Officer
Emma Wootten is the Chief Executive Officer of Age Connects Torfaen, bringing with her over 14 years of experience within the organisation. Emma’s leadership journey has been rooted in a deep commitment to improving the lives of older people across Torfaen and surrounding areas.
Starting her career at Age Connects Torfaen in front-line services, Emma has worked across a range of roles including dementia support, community development, and strategic service delivery. Her passion for person-centred care and inclusive community support has shaped her vision for the future of the charity.
Appointed as CEO in 2025, Emma is focused on strengthening partnerships, championing innovation, and ensuring the voices of older people and carers are at the heart of everything Age Connects does. She is committed to transparency, fairness, and collaboration across the workforce and wider sector.
Prior to working for Age Connects Torfaen, Emma qualified as a solicitor and worked in community development with local Housing Associations.
Outside of work, Emma is a strong supporter of volunteering, and is part of a the volunteer coaching team at RUNNewport.

Head of Dementia Services
Laura Rehman
Laura first joined the charity eight years ago working within befriending before moving into dementia services. Laura’s passion for Dementia care has been shaped by personal experiences of caring for her dad with young onset dementia, giving her a deep empathy and understanding not only of those living with the condition but also of the challenges faced by carers.
Prior to working at Age Connects Torfaen, Laura worked as a nurse and a midwife within Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, gaining valuable clinical expertise and a strong foundation in compassionate care.
Now Head of Dementia Services, Laura is committed to developing innovative, person-centred support for individuals and families. Alongside her role, she is studying for an MSc in Dementia Care, further strengthening her knowledge and practice in this specialist field.

Hospitality & Creativity Manager
Tracey Jones
Tracey first joined Age Connects Torfaen as a volunteer over 31 years ago and has been a valued part of the team ever since. Throughout her career, she has built up a wealth of experience across many areas, including Customer Service, Administration, Information & Advice/Welfare Benefits, Supporting People, Advocacy, Carer Support, Wellbeing Services, Catering, and Older Persons Forums.
Her long-standing commitment and wide-ranging skills make her an integral member of the team, dedicated to supporting older people and carers in our community.

Community Liaison & Health and Wellbeing Officer
Kerry Beckett
Kerry joined Age Connects Torfaen in 2013 and has since been involved in a wide range of projects across the organisation including Befriending, Advocacy and acting as a Dementia Coach. Before this, she spent 18 years working in residential services for adults with additional learning needs, gaining extensive experience in care and support.
In her role as Community Liaison Officer, Kerry focuses on working closely with carers, ensuring they feel supported, valued, and listened to. She also serves as Health and Wellbeing Officer, where she supports staff and helps promote a positive, caring workplace culture.

Dementia Short Breaks Coordinator
Sarah Windsor
Sarah joined Age Connects Torfaen in 2020 as an Activities Coordinator before moving into the role of Dementia Short Breaks Coordinator. In this position, she oversees a range of carer respite projects, making sure people living with dementia and their carers have access to meaningful support and much-needed breaks.
With over 22 years of experience in the health sector, Sarah has specialised in dementia care, dedicating her career to improving quality of life for individuals and offering compassionate, tailored support to their families.
She is passionate about creating safe, engaging, and person-centred environments, and takes pride in developing services that bring both reassurance and enrichment to those supported by Age Connects Torfaen.

Finance Officer
Jan Robinson
With more than 40 years of experience in finance, Jan has worked with major companies such as St Ivel, Cuprinol, and Airsprung Beds, as well as the Wiltshire-based dementia charity, Alzheimer’s Support. Alongside her professional career, Jan cared for her mother for 11 years, gaining first-hand understanding of the challenges faced by families living with dementia.
This combination of professional expertise and personal experience gives Jan a unique perspective and a strong commitment to supporting the work we do.
Outside of work, Jan enjoys attending live music events and exploring the outdoors through hiking.
