Age Connects Torfaen has been awarded the Bronze Corporate Health Standard from the Welsh Government. The Corporate Health Standard is the national quality mark for workplace health promotion across Wales. In order to achieve Bronze Standard we had to demonstrate how we promote health and wellbeing in the community.

The Corporate Health Standard is part of the Welsh Government ‘Healthy Working Wales’ programme and is the national mark of quality for health and well-being in the workplace. It is presented in bronze, silver, gold and platinum categories to public, private and third sector organisations implementing practices to promote the health and well-being of their employees.

Angela Reed, Chief Executive at Age Connects Torfaen said: “It really is great that the hard work and efforts of our staff have been recognised by Welsh Government. The news has left me beaming with pride because I see the great work the team do in this area on a day to day basis. We see ourselves as a place to work that believes a healthy team is a happy team. ”

Kerry Beckett, Community Liaison Officer said: “We work really hard to get staff and volunteers involved in working and living healthy. We are already making plans towards achieving the silver standard”.
